The 90t Shaft for Shipbuilding was Manufactured Successfully in WHICF

On July 27, 2010, the 90t shaft for shipbuilding was manufactured successfully in Wuhan Heavy Industry Casting & forging Co., Ltd. (WHICF) This shaft is the first product which was manufactured by 80MN open die forging oil press which put into production lately.
WHICF general manager Shen Chengyi said 80MN press is used for all sorts of open die forging processes like stretching (max steel ingot is 159t), upsetting (max steel ingot is 90t), punching, twisting etc. WHICF can manufacture over 5000TEU container ship, over 30000t large-size shaft for shipbuilding, rudder and large-size forgings in thermal power, water power, nuclear power, wind power, metallurgy, chemical industry etc.
The general superintendent of the project Xu Jie said WHICF can provide all assortative forgings for any type of ship when the program put into operation. WHICF possesses hydraulic presses which range in capacity from 18MN to 80MN and can form complete sets of forgings for shipbuilding. The open die forging oil press will enhance our abilities of equipment manufacturing in shipbuilding industry and can meet demands of large-size forgings.
