In early March 2009, the Schuler Group will complete the turnkey delivery of an automatic solid forming line with knuckle-joint press to the Chinese automotive supplier Huazhong Group in Shanghai. Production launch is set for summer 2009.
Quality, cost and environmental aspects all played a role in convincing the Huazhong Group to choose the Schuler press line. Equipped with a tried and trusted knuckle-joint drive, the line is capable of manufacturing complex part shapes with narrow tolerances which are ready to assemble. Although warm forming is just as precise as cold forming, it does not require time-consuming lubricant application on the slug material. Instead, process cooling and lubrication is handled by an eco-friendly circulation system integrated into the dies.
The line will enable the customer to produce parts such as inner races and tripods.
