Two forging presses for China to produce crawler tracks and track support rollers

M¨¹ller Weingarten, a Schuler Group company, has received an order from China for two forging lines, including automation equipment. Both lines are to be delivered in spring 2009. The customer aims to use the new press lines to expand and modernize capacities for the production of crawler tracks and track support rollers.

The first line comprises a screw press with direct drive and enhanced forming energy for the forging of track support rollers. It is equipped with a hydraulic overload safeguard. The consignment will also include hydraulic bed and slide ejectors, as well as a die spraying device. The forged parts are handled automatically by several robots.
The second line is a crank press with electronic transfer and loading feeder, as well as a semi-automatic die change system. In order to guarantee efficient production, the press is also equipped with mechanical bed and slide ejectors.
Both presses feature modern MW-FCS control units, which are tailored to the needs of tough forging environments.
