Ditzingen, July 18, 2007 – On June 30 the TRUMPF Group successfully closed the books on its 2006/07 fiscal year. Sales grew by 18 percent to 1.94 billion Euros. Orders received increased by about 16 percent to 2.05 billion Euros. The Group will thus be entering the new fiscal year with a very comfortable cushion in terms of orders. All data are preliminary; the company will announce the final figures during its annual press briefing conference in mid-October 2007. The strong world economy and the high demand for production tools and equipment contributed to the company’s excellent sales growth. The strongest gains came from Eastern Europe and Germany. Also Western Europe and Asia enjoyed a considerable upswing. All five business fields contributed to the company’s growth.
“Our products and services provided the right solutions to the needs of our customers. Also, we invested heavily in expanding our business so that we are in closer proximity to our customers all over the world. All efforts in the coming year will be linked to this goal,” said Dr. Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, President of the TRUMPF Group.
Investments rose considerably by 73 percent to 164 million Euros. The company is primarily investing in its locations in Germany, North America and Asia. In May, the company announced that it will be expanding its corporate headquarters in Ditzingen, Germany, by a third by 2009. Overall, the number of employees grew by 12 percent to 7,300 worldwide. The company created most of the new jobs in Germany and Eastern Europe. In Germany, the company employs 4,300 people, a growth of 7 percent over the previous year.
